Going to Capri?

Capri might be one of the most beautiful places we’ve been. There is so much to do and see on such a small island. Lets start with the most important shall we?

The Food

If you can only eat a lunch a dinner and one dessert, here is where you’re going. Start with lunch at Angelica Capri Ristorante, we’ve been chasing that lemon pasta high ever since… For dinner, you must head over to Ana-Capri to Da Gelsomina, it has the most amazing view (photo of their farm overlooking the ocean below). We ordered half the menu and everything was delicious! Either have your concierge call and make a reservation for you in advance or you can call yourself if you’re comfortable (you cannot go here without a reservation and actually you’re better off making reservations everywhere as they fill up fast especially depending on the time of year you choose to visit). You can take a bus to that side, but we took a taxi, then the restaurant has a driver that picks you up at the taxi stand in Ana-Capri and brings you to the restaurant (bring cash, taxi’s there rarely took a card). Also if you have ever been to Disneyland, the ride to the restaurant is a bit like Mr. Toads Wild Ride (don ‘t worry you’re fine, it’s fine, we’re all fine). For dessert, you may need to break the golden rule and have it before you’re dinner if you want to enjoy the very best Gelato in Capri Buonocore Gelateria Pasticceria Gastronomia e Tavola Calda (when you see the line, you’ll know we aren’t the only ones that think so).

The Shopping

If you came to shop til you drop then you’re in the right place, well if you came to shop and spend big bucks on designer brands, then you came to the right place. There is every designer store you can imagine (minus Hermes), within a fairly short distance. Remember to ask them about the VAT tax refund if you buy anything, save the receipt and the form they give you and follow the instructions to get your 20% or whatever it is now back.

The Sites

If you only have time to do one sightseeing trip on the island, by far the best is the boat tour around the island. They have a number of different options that vary in price and accommodations reflect it. We splurged and did a private boat tour that included snacks and Prosecco (a couple of pictures shown below that don’t begin to do it justice). The boat tour is amazing but be warned the water can get choppy, so if you’re one to get seasick, bring your Dramamine or your chosen relief method and keep it on hand.
